Cathay Pacific, established in 1946 by American Roy C Farrell and Australian Sydney H de Kantzow, is Hong Kong's premium air carrier. The airlines' headquarters are located at Hong Kong International Airport in a state of the art complex. The airline carries approximately one million passengers each month to a range of destinations, including Europe, Asia and North America. Cathay Pacific business class has recently been revamped, with the new section described as the 'perfect balance of privacy and openness.' The airline prides itself on going the extra mile to make its passengers feel special.
Passengers can enjoy the use of 'The Wing' business class lounge while waiting for flights. This state of the art lounge has recently been revamped with a cutting edge design from London Based architects Foster and Partners. The new look includes ultra comfortable sofas, individual lounge chairs, up-to-date technology including high-speed Wi-Fi,and a self-serve buffet dining experience. There also numerous showers and bathroom amenities.
Cathay Pacific's new business class seats include a travel scope of 28cm and the seat position is also adjustable. They convert to complete lie-flat beds with extra width added to give passengers another 16.5cm comfort.
The personal storage space area has been increased too; the side cabinet can house a headset, pair of glasses, vanity mirror and other small items, while the cabinet door also acts as a privacy divider. The main table slides down to reveal ample working space for a laptop.
The Cathay Pacific business class on-board entertainment is top quality. The 15-inch TV screen opens at the touch of a button and features on-demand audio and video. Passengers can choose from approximately 100 movies, 500 TV shows, 888 music CDs, 22 radio channels, and 70 games. Cathay Pacific welcomes its business class passengers on-board with complimentary drinks and the meals are superb with both western and Asian cuisines on offer. A trolley service allows passengers to choose from a selection of main meals and desserts- a service previously restricted to first class passengers only.
The new Cathay Pacific business class has definitely raised the bar on expected business class expectations, offering world class service and features designed for the comfort and relaxation of the corporate traveller.
