Virgin Australia
Virgin Australia has had a relatively short history compared to other airlines, having only been in the skies since the year 2000. Over this short time period however, the airline has carved itself a reputation as a global leader in customer service, performance and value for money. What started off as a strictly domestic venture within Australia, soon expanded to include international routes through a subsidiary airline, V Australia. Both Virgin Australia and V Australia cater to the corporate traveller, offering business class seats and accompanying privileges.
V Australia's international business class flights offer personalised and attentive service. There is priority check-in, boarding and baggage release, and passengers are greeted with welcome aboard drinks (typically a glass of champagne served in Reidel glassware or another beverage of choice).
The seats are luxurious with plenty of leg room. The lie flat bed is ideal for arriving refreshed and it converts into a massage chair at the flick of a switch. The seats have a privacy screen and a personal workstation, with laptop power, USB slot and reading light. Virgin Australia business class seats are made from luxurious leather and generously recline to a 150cm pitch.
V Australia on-board entertainment is available through RED, a 12.1"touchscreen entertainment system offering box office hits, TV favourites, games and music. Virgin Australia business class entertainment options are similar, featuring a large 10.6 inch screen, a wide choice of movies and TV programs as well as noise cancelling headphones.
The food and beverage choices are second to none with fresh Australian cuisine inspired by Luke Mangan, one of Australia's leading celebrity chefs. Top quality wines are served from a number of boutique Australian and international vineyards. When it's time to stretch the legs, there is a bar area where corporate travellers can relax with a drink or a meal.
International Travellers can relax in comfort whilst waiting for their flight at the Virgin Australia airport lounges located in the Australian domestic terminals. Overseas travellers can relax in a number of alliance airline lounges. 'The Lounge' features meeting rooms and private work stations, free wireless broadband and an excellent range of food and beverages.
Virgin is introducing three new lounge areas in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, all due for completion by the end of 2011. From May 2011, the flagship Sydney lounge will feature valet parking and a fast-track entry lounge.
The fast-track entry lounge is unique to Virgin and will put the airline on the map as one of the world's premier business class airlines. Passengers drive to a valet parking area for vehicle drop off; they will then be met by a concierge who will escort them to an exclusive security screening point. After the security check, passengers can head straight onto the lounge area to relax before their flight.
