Air Train rolls out door-to-door service

Thai Airways to start regional carrier

Thai Airways International will be launching a new subsidiary airline named Thai Smile. Thai Smile will be a regional carrier with flights set to begin 1 July 2012. The first Thai Smile routes to open will be between Bangkok and Chiang Mai,Jakarta, Kolkata, Phnom Penh and Surat Thani.


Cathay upgrades mobile boarding

Cathay Pacific has upgraded its mobile boarding pass facility. The electronic mobile boarding pass is available for direct flights departing from Auckland or Hong Kong. Eligible passengers who have checked-in online can have their boarding pass sent to their mobile. Cathay Pacific is expanding this technology to make this feature available at more of its destinations.  


Rydges build at Sydney Airport

A $68 million Rydges hotel has begun construction at Sydney Airport. The hotel is located near the international terminal and is expected to open in 2013.  


Air New Zealand relaunches Bali flights

Air New Zealand is relaunching direct services between Auckland and Denpasar in Bali. The route will be a twice-weekly seasonal service starting 20 June 2012 and running until October 2012. The route will be extended to a year-round service if demand is sufficient. An 767-300 aircraft with 24 business and 204 economy class seats will be used.
