Etihad Airways has announced the addition of a new service to Perth for 2014.
From July 15 2014, an Airbus A330-200 will be flying a daily route between Abu Dhabi and Perth. The airline's partnership with Virgin Australia was instrumental in supporting the addition of the new flights.
Together, the carriers will operate codeshare flights to several towns and cities within the Western Australian region.
That deal ensures passengers will be able to enjoy more convenient flight connections with the purchase of a single ticket.
The announcement couldn't have come at a better time, as the number of Western Australians travelling overseas reached an average annual growth rate of 8.5 per cent during the last three years.
"The new services will build the first ever commercial air bridge between Perth and Abu Dhabi and will cater to the growing demand for travel between these two points and beyond to Africa, the Middle East and Europe," Etihad Airways President and Chief Executive James Hogan said.
"Our flights are timed to offer travellers the convenience of daily departures and seamless connectivity to our global network over the Abu Dhabi hub."
For companies wishing to streamline their corporate travel policies and protocols, it can help to partner with a specialised management team with knowledge of the industry and access to a global network of travel providers.
