Qatar Airways has announced plans for an all-business class service flying daily from Doha Airport to London Heathrow.
This is the first service of its kind to operate in the Middle East and will be available from 15 May 2014 with 42 weekly services.
The flight will operate on an Airbus A319 aircraft, which will contain a single-aisle layout featuring 40 seats in rows of two.
Passengers will be treated to a range of comfortable features, including fully reclining flat beds and an Oryx entertainment system with more than 900 options spread over film, television, video games and music. Passengers will also be able to use a text messaging service while on board the aircraft.
The service is one of many new routes and destinations Qatar Airways is launching in 2014 along with Sharjah (UAE), Dubai World Central (UAE), Philadelphia (USA), Larnaca (Cyprus), Istanbul (Turkey), Edinburgh (Scotland), Miami and Dallas/Fort Worth (USA).
"The Doha-London Heathrow route is one of Qatar Airways' most popular international routes and it was only fitting that we introduce an all-business class service on this key route, where customers will also be able to benefit from our new Qatar Airways premium lounge in London Heathrow's terminal four, and of course the Premium Terminal in Doha," Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker said.
