The union representing Australian border force employees has announced a 24 hour strike starting on Monday, 9 November 2015.
The strike will affect customs and immigration services as well as passenger security screening at all Australian international airports. Additional staff will be put in place but international travellers should anticipate some delays.
Passengers travelling overseas on 9 November should allow extra transit time and arrive at the airport three hours before scheduled departure.
Please note, domestic services are not affected by this action.
More information about the strike is available at the Department of Immigration and Border Protection website.
