Travel update - Chilean ash cloud
Airlines today are expected to resume domestic and international services at various stages throughout the day at most Australian airports.
Passengers can expect delays over the next 48 hours as airlines work to clear the backlog of passengers.
Travellers are advised to confirm all flights prior to travelling to the airport. Airlines are reviewing their flight schedules on an hourly basis.
Please be advised:
Qantas (domestic)
- services to and from Adelaide have resumed,
- services to and from Canberra will resume from 1pm
- services to and from Melbourne will resume from 11am
- services to and from Sydney will resume from 2pm
- services to and from Tasmania remain suspended today.
Qantas (international)
- flights from Sydney will resume from 2pm. Delays are expected on flights into Sydney
- flights from Melbourne will resume from 11am. Delays are expected on flights into Melbourne
- Services to and from Auckland will be suspended from 9am local time, and to and from Wellington, Queenstown and Christchurch from 10am until further notice.
Virgin Australia will commence services from
- Adelaide
- Melbourne from 12pm
- Canberra from 3pm
- Sydney from 3pm
- Hobart and Launceston is expected to resume from 4pm
Jetstar
- Services to and from Sydney including trans-Tasman services will resume from 2pm
- Services to and from Newcastle will resume from 2pm
- Services to and from Hobart and Launceston will resume from 12pm
- Services to and from Melbroune will resume from 11am
