Travel update - Cairo
More than 500 people have been injured and one person killed during a violent clash yesterday between partisans of Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak and anti-regime demonstrators in Cairo.
Demonstrators from both sides threw stones and battled with sticks in Tahrir Square, the epicentre of protests which have continued for the past nine days.
The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) has continued to issue a high-level travel warning for Egypt.Please contact your travel manager for more information.

Travel update - Egypt
Egypt's ongoing civil unrest continues across the country with reports that more than 100 people have been killed and many more injured during rioting. Since January 25 2011, violent demonstrations have occurred at locations across Egypt including Cairo, Alexandria and Suez.
There are disruptions to Egypt's communications networks for mobile phones and the internet. The Egyptian government has imposed a 4pm - 8am curfew across the country which is expected to be in place for some time. Travellers in Egypt are being advised to respect curfew provisions and follow the advice of local authorities.
The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) has increased its travel warning for Egypt to the highest level.
