Iceland's volcanic ash cloud causes further disruptions
The spread of volcanic ash cloud has led to further European airport closures.
On Sunday 9 May, flights to Croatia's Split and Zadar airports were suspended along with Germany's Munich, Augsburg, Memmingen and Stuttgart airports. Some flights from Frankfurt airport were also cancelled.
It's expected the volcanic ash cloud will continue to disrupt air traffic in parts of Spain, southern France, northern Italy, Switzerland and Portugal throughout today, Monday 10 May.
Temporary closures of airspace over Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland are likely to continue today also.
Latest Corporate Traveller update:
- Normal services to Porto and Northern Portugal are expected to resume today at 0600 GMT (1600 Australian EST)
- Most services have already resumed in Spain
- Airspace around Munich and Stuttgart closed yesterday at 1300 GMT (2300 Australian EST). Airspace remains closed until further notice
- Austrian airspace is expected to re-open early this morning local time (later this afternoon Australian EST). Vienna, Innsbruck, Linz and Salzburg are currently affected
- Most French airspace has remained open however a number of flights have been grounded in the country
- On Croatia's Adriatic coast the ash cloud forced officials to close airports at Split and Zadar at 1200 GMT yesterday (2200 Australian EST)
