Ash cloud causes more airport closures

Due to further volcanic eruptions, both Heathrow London and Gatwick airports will close for a number of hours today. Both airports will close today from 0100 – 0700 GMT (1000 – 1600 Australian EST).

It is believed that any disruption to UK airspace will be short term with the ash cloud expected to blow over fairly quickly.

At this time, flights out of Australia are operating although there may be some delays to services.

Flights will also be grounded in parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland however Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds airports will resume full services.

If your flight is cancelled or delayed, please contact your travel manager who will do their utmost to rebook your flight to a future date.

Corporate Traveller will continue to monitor the situation closely and recommend clients contact their travel manager if they have any questions.
