Travel update - 40 Qantas flights set to be cancelled on Monday

Qantas has announced flight schedule changes for Monday 10 October as the Australian Licenced Aircraft Engineers Association (ALAEA) ramps up its industrial campaign.

Union members are proposing a four hour strike in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane from 3pm. Work stoppages begin at 3pm in Sydney, 4pm in Brisbane and 5pm in Melbourne.

Qantas plans to cancel 40 flights, delay 24 flights by up to 3.5 hours and bring forward 14 flights on Monday. In addition, there will be 11 international services delayed on Monday due to strike action.

Qantas passengers are advised to confirm schedules prior to travelling to the airport and should try to factor in additional time into their schedules in light of delays.

Contact your Travel Manager for further information. Travellers can also visit Qantas' flight status page at www.qantas.com.au for up-to-the minute flight details, as there may be further changes released before Monday.
