Travel update - Travel disruptions continue for Qantas passengers
Qantas has cancelled 14 domestic flights and rescheduled 38 flights today as a result of strike action by ground crew members of the Transport Workers Union (TWU).
TWU members took strike action at airports for two hours this morning from 7am and will take further strike action from 4pm (local time) this afternoon. The stoppages are being replicated at airports in Melbourne, Canberra, Hobart, Adelaide, Darwin, Perth, Brisbane, Townsville and Cairns.
Customs and border protection staff are also taking strike action until 11am today, followed by another four-hour stoppage from 9pm tonight.
The Australian Licenced Aircraft Engineers Association (ALAEA) will go on strike at airports across the nation between 4pm - 8pm on Friday 14 October.
Qantas passengers are advised to confirm schedules prior to travelling to the airport and should factor in additional time into their schedules in light of delays.
Please contact your travel manager for further information. Travellers can also visit Qantas' flight status page at www.qantas.com.au for up-to-the minute flight details.
