Corporate Traveller partnered with Bundaberg Brewed Drinks in 2013 and currently administers its business travel program including flights, accommodation, car hire and conferencing. Bundaberg Brewed Drinks engages in medium to high frequency domestic travel for approximately 50 employees and regular overseas trips for senior executives.


Bundaberg Brewed Drinks used unstructured booking and travel processes that increased unnecessary spending and reduced reporting visibility. Its number of business travellers was increasing and the wide use of credit cards for business trips had increased the time investment for administering and reconciling its travel program. Additionally, high volume accommodation requirements were a significant cost area that needed streamlining and reduction. The international facet of its travel program also required complex itineraries that needed specialist advice.


The Corporate Traveller team recognised that streamlining the company’s booking processes was critical to increasing travel efficiency and reporting visibility. To simplify the booking cycle , Corporate Traveller implemented an online booking tool to bring airfare bookings under a single channel and easily capture all booking data. Corporate Traveller also consulted regularly with Bundaberg Brewed Drinks to identify travel patterns and use advance purchase strategies where possible. To streamline complex itineraries, Corporate Traveller assigned specialist Travel Managers to provide expert advice and make trips as seamless and stress free as possible.


Mandating the use of the Serko online booking tool captured more than 90% of the company’s bookings and significantly increased the visibility of its airfare spend. This step also reduced ancillary charges such as booking and credit card fees for accommodation and saved Bundaberg Brewed Drinks approximately 7%. Adopting advance purchase strategies also enabled the company to save more than 25% on airfares. Additionally, the streamlined booking channels sped up the booking cycle and reduced the amount of time required for cost reconciliation.
